It hasn’t really had a lot of publicity, and what it has had has not been that positive, so what is all the fuss about. It’s just a levy that companies will have to pay if they don’t have an apprentice.
Well there are numerous questions that still with less than two months to go before its introduction have not been answered.
What happens if a company can genuinely not find an apprentice to fill their vacancy?
What happens if the local schools and colleges are not producing leavers with the right employability skills, knowlege or attitudes to make them employable as apprentices?
Then as with everything else there is the question of cost.
